About Us
The various programs seek to produce not just reading and writing skills in Hindi and Urdu, but also listening and speaking fluency. Our English program began in 2003. ESL (English as a Second Language) is taught by native speakers from the United States and Europe. We have both Indian and foreign nationals enrolled in our ESL classes which are offered twice a year, from January to May, and from August to December. These classes are also characterized by small class size and high quality instruction. Presently we do not have any individual tuition in our English program. In our Hindi and Urdu program, we have 3 sessions in a year, a July mini-semester of 5 weeks and two full semesters with 20 weeks of classes:
We also offer 1 and 2 week long Intensive classes at various times throughout the year. These intensive classes are offered not only in Delhi at our EWLI facility, but also are available to companies desiring an EWLI teacher to travel to any city in India and teach the Intensive classes on-site at the company’s office. In Delhi, most classes are taught on our central Delhi [Nizamuddin] campus, but off-site classes for Universities or other institutions can be arranged at their facilities. These needs will be met based on the availability of teachers and other scheduling constraints. We will try to fulfill requests for short term and casual tuition and/or classes as we are able to, based on the availability of teachers and other scheduling constraints. We encourage students to consider a program that combines group classes and individual tuition, because we believe most students will learn better with this combination, and it allows us to serve more students while lowering the cost per student. Please refer to the semester-specific information for the list of classes being offered in the current semester. Besides the classes and tuition, we also offer:
East West Language Institute along with Metro Delhi International School (MDIS) are institutions of East West Educational Foundation, a non-profit society registered with the Indian government. Several of our Hindi/Urdu students have found it convenient to study in the East-West Language Institute programs while sending their children to MDIS. |
East West Educational Foundation’s (EWEF) language program was born out of a need for quality Hindi and Urdu tuition for foreigners in the Delhi metropolis. Since it’s beginning in 1997 it has grown to include several teachers and a variety of classes and programs specializing in:
